Tripadvisor is the the world’s largest travel site, with over 200 million reviews.

Almost 4.5 million locations have a Tripadvisor Page: almost every restaurant, hotel, pub, cafeteria, bed & breakfast has one or more reviews.

How to show Tripadvisor reviews in the WiFi splash page?

STEP 1

Take a screenshot of the element you want to show. For example, I took this screenshot from the Tripadvisor Page of an adventure park.

STEP 2

I created a splash page with the following configuration:

tripadvisor2

FOOTER IMAGE URL = You can use the Tripadvisor Logo, or a “Rate us on Tripadvisor” button. I uploaded the screenshot below.

FOOTER IMAGE LINK= The URL of your Tripadvisor page

If you don’t see the “Footer image URL” and the “Footer image link” fields, contact support@tanaza.com.

STEP 3

Simulate your splash page. It’s ready!

Things you should be aware of when deploying a Wi-Fi network

Things you should be aware of when deploying a Wi-Fi network:

  1. Wi-Fi coverage. Choose the AP and mount it in order to get the best Wi-Fi coverage possible. There are many access points, with internal or external antennas. Omnidirectional antennas spread signal in every direction. Some access points are designed specifically to be used for outdoor deployments. If you want to get the best Wi-Fi coverage, mount your access points far from metal grids, cement beams or other structures that could affect the signal transmission.
  2. Power level. The TX power setting specifies the strength of the signal that the router produces during the times it is transmitting. Lowering the TX Power allows to reduce interferences when more Wi-Fi devices are near. (more…)

How to promote your Wi-Fi and get more Wi-Fi clients

If mobile Internet services are available in your location, it’s not so easy to convince people to connect to your Wi-Fi public hotspot.

Maybe they subscribed to a flat plan for 4G data and they don’t want to authenticate to your Wi-Fi network.

To get these users, you should offer things that they want and they can only get through your Wi-Fi network.

Some ideas:

  1. Freebies and discounts. After authentication, redirect Wi-Fi clients to a landing page for freebies and discounts. Wi-Fi in a shopping mall? Offer a 10% off coupon for their next buy. Wi-Fi in a café? 3×2 offer on snacks.
