The former executives of Cisco have launched a new wireless network system called Mist, which can track users’ locations and suggest the applications they might need. All-in-oneMist is a new kind of wireless network system where wireless networking, location services and machine learning come together. Mist tracks users’ locations and automatically suggests them the applications that may come in handy. It is the first intelligent wireless network that can connect to any surrouding network and suggests useful applications to users, based on the location they are in, via a technology called virtual Bluetooth Low Energy (vBLE). Why you should protect your personal data while traveling

While traveling, people should never forget to protect their personal data. According to security experts, imprudent habits like publishing boarding pass pictures on social networks or accessing insecure free Wi-Fi hotspots can put your privacy in danger.

Have you ever posted your boarding pass picture on social networks? If so, your data security could be at stake. According to Andy Hurren, a Solution Architect at Intel Security, people should pay more attention to the information they publish and who is going to see it. The trend of making your flight information public, undoubtedly, enhances user’s possibility of being victims of cyber crimes. For instance, hackers can easily decipher the barcodes of a boarding pass using specific websites and gain free access to your personal data: they can detect your frequent flyer numbers, steal your points or, in the worst scenario, they could even steal your identity.

Birdhouses in Amsterdam offer free Wi-Fi for clean air

In the 2015 “European City Ranking”, Amsterdam ranked 13th with respect to the measures it takes against air pollution. Fortunately, a smart initiative is now changing this situation by implementing special birdhouses that offer free Wi-Fi to the locals who contribute to improving air quality.

According to the 2015 European City Ranking, it seems that Amsterdam is not enough of an eco-friendly city when it comes to air quality. As part of the Soot-free for the Climate campaign, the European City Ranking evaluated 23 big and highly-polluted European cities and ranked them from A to F based on their activities to improve clean air. The 5G deployment in Europe in 2020

The European commission is working on a new project that aims to offer free Wi-Fi to citizens in the bigger European citie, by 2020.

The project consists of two parts: one, the creation (installation/deployment) of free Wi-Fi hotspots throughout Europe and two, the propagation of the 5th generation wireless system (5G).
With the ends to propagate 5G in Europe, European regulations have established that at least one city per each European country should be equipped with the 5th generation wireless system. This propagation plan will be put in place in 2018, according to the European Commission.
The European Commission sees even beyond the objectives of the regulation and hopes that by 2025, 5G will be propagated everywhere, particularly in train stations, airports, and other important public spaces. The benefits from 5G deployment in Europe is estimated to be €113.1bn annually by 2025.
